Although the overall aim of the SPEEDS project is to engage educators in continuing professional development, enhancing the student experience is our core ambition. Students have been involved in SPEEDS in various capacities. The Student Survey, for example, explored students’ experiences of teaching and learning practice in social policy and social professional education. Furthermore, we have developed partnerships with student services, including the UCC Skills Centre, with a view to piloting curriculum innovations that are currently in development.
We also piloted the first Student Digital Badge scheme in collaboration with the UCC Certificate in Contemporary Living team. We look forward to offering digital badges to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the future, as assessments using digital technologies are further embedded in our courses.
